At Kestrel Aviation we offer helicopter pilot training courses, various ratings and
endorsement training.
A pilot's licence is the essential first step required for a
career in aviation or for private or hobby flying. The level of
licence held indicates the privileges and limitations of the licence,
(or what the pilot can and cannot do). The licences available
at Kestrel Aviation include the Student Pilot Licence, Private
Pilots Licence and Commercial Pilots Licence.
A rating gives the pilot the skill and qualification to allow
them to engage in a particular specialist area of operation. For
example a Night VFR Rating allows the pilot to fly at night, a
Command Instrument Rating allows the pilot to fly in cloud with
reference to the instruments, and an Instructor rating allows
a pilot to teach others to fly. All of these courses are offered
at Kestrel Aviation.
Endorsement training allows the pilot to fly different types
of Helicopter. Endorsement training
includes mustering, sling load, low flying, and helicopter type
endorsements on both single and multi-engine helicopters.
We also offer specialist training courses such as mountain flying
and fire bombing (bucket and belly tank). To follow is a brief
description of the various courses offered and pre-requisites:
