The rapid growth in the Airline Industry in our region has seen a severe shortage of Pilots. It is estimated that in our region alone there will be a need for around 8000 pilots to crew the growing fleets of the Airlines. The General Aviation industry has traditionally been able to provide a supply of suitably qualified Pilots to the Airlines, then allowing newcomers to step up. The rapid expansion of their fleets has seen a depletion of Pilots that is now of concern for the whole industry.
One effect is that there is now a considerable shortage of qualified Instructors that can help train the Pilots needed by the big carriers
With this in mind, Kestrel Aviation College has decided to offer an integrated course that provides the candidate with a Commercial Pilots Licence, a Command Instrument Rating and a Grade III Instructor rating. Those people who graduate from the course and who have demonstrated the commitment and aptitude required to fulfil the role as an Instructor will be offered an employment contract with Kestrel Aviation College as an Instructor for the following two years. At the end of the two years the candidates will have the experience, ratings and endorsements that will place them in a very competitive position for airline employment
Of course we will also continue to offer Commercial Pilot Course for those who choose a different career path.
